Crikey. Twitter in hospital.

NHS Salford has been using Twitter as an additional way of communicating with the local population as snow continues to disrupt services across large parts of the country.
The hospital’s press office has been using the social networking site to inform patients of the services on offer at the Trust.
Patients with non-urgent appointments are being asked not to attempt to attend but to try to cancel the appointment themselves. An Out of Hours GP service operated last night as usual but home visits may be limited by the extreme weather.
Salford Community Health has also deployed a 4×4 to carry out essential home visits and one Salford GP slept overnight at a health centre to ensure expert medical advice could be delivered today.
