‘Green’ has replaced ‘gold’ as the summer’s object of desire…

‘Green’ has replaced ‘gold’ as the summer’s object of desire – as in green shoots of recovery. Green is synonymous with emerging from winter, of course. But the summer of buoyant economic times is still a way off for most in the recruitment industry – perhaps the better synonym for what we’re seeing now is light. The days are getting a shade longer, the nights shorter. The all-surrounding dark is ebbing, if just noticeably.
Let’s be thankful for some light. It’s less scary. And you know where you are in the light. When it’s dark, it’s difficult to find one’s way, bumping into unseen obstacles is all too easy, and defining a sense of direction is impossible.
A little light means some stabilisation. Stabilisation is healthy. It serves up space to get one’s bearings – and then decide which route is best. Recovery is the ultimate goal. But take advantage of the breathing room offered by stabilisation, to examine your options and set your course for your business’s fully lit future.
